Hello friends and welcome to my fifty-second blog.

Twenty-twenty started with aplomb,

A musical festival was the bomb.

We were enjoying a super holiday in Plett,

Having so much fun, you definitely can bet.

With our festive friends in their stunning pad,

The entire family together, I was so glad.

Relaxing, resting, eating up a storm,

Glorious days, and nights so warm.

After this, we headed to the Karoo,

For a family visit with E and his crew.

That was really great, and everything was swell,

And we all thought we were doing quite well.

 

Then down to Stellies to settle the boys,

Having done this before, I kept my poise.

Sorted out John and thereafter James,

It was all a breeze, much fun and games.

I spent quite a while in that glorious town,

Time spent at the pool, I stayed very brown.

Rather bleak to leave, especially my last born.

He seemed so very fine, but I was quite torn.

Returned home to treat a patient or two,

Because back in the day, that is all I would do.

Caught up with friends and worked on my tan,

Such a chilled time, man oh man!

Then it was time to go on a trip,

Which had been postponed due to Rich’s blip.

This to celebrate our twenty-fifth,

With my fave companion, I was with.

The dreadful little germ was becoming a thing,

So before leaving, I decided my agent to ring.

He said never fear it will be fine,

As yet no cases in SA, so that was our sign.

A beyond outstanding trip away,

We fell in love with India, from our first day.

Its beauty, its vibrancy, its delicious food,

Its spirituality, diversity, and many a mood.

From the romantic Taj with its marble in white,

To the outstanding tigers, a spectacular sight.

To the colours and noise and so many folk,

And the cows in the road, without a yolk.

The escalating infections were rather a worry,

But we persevered, and revelled, and were not sorry.

Having, sanitized, and washed, and avoided the spittle,

We cut our trip short but missed out on little.

 

Back home we were thrilled to have the boys here,

Having been sent home due to growing fear.

A heavenly time with lunches and brekka,

It was truly as if I’d arrived in Mecca.?

We chatted and laughed and played a game or two,

The most precious gift, and very little else to do.

I continued my blog and studied some more,

And before very long, opened another door.

My  first nutrition client was a learning curve for me,

But what great joy, an advisor to now be.

Then quickly my physio friend asked me to treat,

And at first, this was just so very neat.

With mask and visor, I headed right out,

In Drew’s car, going all over, out and about.

 

Then we had a really awful shock,

Our Muz, passed away, an enormous knock.

She was my person and taught me so much

I miss her so, her love and her touch.

We are still navigating our way along,

To have her gone seems just so very wrong.

She is in a better place, and has no pain,

And Earth’s terrible loss is Heaven’s great gain.

 

Soon after this, we were invited away,

To the bush in Sabi Sands, we were asked to stay.

With our old dear friends, we did the sneaky thing,

Our decor expertise to the lodge did bring.

It was beyond awesome and the sightings supreme,

Cathartic, comforting, it was like a dream.

 

Then I succumbed to Covid, that dreaded little thing,

Felt awful for a while, it was really quite ming.

I infected poor Rich, but not Helen or the boys,

The house became quiet, there was so little noise.

We got over this and life changed again,

I studied some more with paper and pen.

 

Two weeks later a holiday down to the sea,

To our happy place, where we were so pleased to be.

We were joined by close friends and this helped us heal

Walked and talked with many a tasty meal.

I recovered very fast and started treating once more,

And partnered with Neolife, and was sick no more.

In fact, I felt stronger, fitter and so very well.

And I  love this new business, it’s just swell.

 

Having taken over the physio practice from my friend,

I used this time for my business to attend.

There were teething problems, learning curves, and many  a stress,

Though it’s totally normal, and part of the process, I guess.

In the meantime, my boys managed their new normal with ease,

They took to the changes, it seemed like a breeze.

Rich worked really hard in his new role,

And I continued to strive for the next new goal.

 

Now it’s almost the end of the year,

And with it, we hope for some festive cheer.

No Christmas carols, an event which we host,

Super spreader Norths, we would hate to boast.

Anyway, things are winding slowly down.

A smile has started to replace my frown.

We’re excited to be going to Thornybush  today

With fabulous friends, another weekend away.

So very chuffed and we can’t wait to chill,

And to revel and to get our wildlife fill.

 

 

Then to the beach and the sound of the sea,

I feel privileged, blessed and so very lucky.
