Hello there and welcome to my 109 th blog and my 4th end of year rhyme.
It would seem that for me every year goes faster
And I have discovered that time is my master.
This is my fourth attempt at my rhyming thing,
An end to my blogging year, it will bring.
I have decided after giving it some thought,
That I will not in too much negativity be caught.
Though I do need to touch on some stuff,
But not for too long, else we will be in a huff.
The world is in turmoil, even more so than last year,
And it’s not improving, I really do fear.
It is so frightening what humans can do,
The hatred, destruction, many lives lost, too.
This makes me realize how lucky we are,
That I must make a wish on each and every star.
Our country is not in the happiest place,
It appears that every year more challenges we must face.
However, our weather is awesome, and the sun still can shine
And if we were to leave, I would surely pine.
My favourite has shown once again, he is strong,
On his rollercoaster year that, at times, seemed so long.
The ups and the downs have come in many a wave,
And at times, he has had to be very brave.
However, we pushed through, and will continue to do,
Making the most and trying not to be blue.
My boys have all had a really great year,
Managing to balance their lives, it would definitely appear.
While one has left the shores of our land,
Willing and competent on his two feet to stand.
Apron strings loosening is still a hard one,
He is after all, my first-born son.
The second in line seems to be enjoying his work,
But once articles are done, in this field he won’t lurk.
Happily for us, next year he returns to the nest,
It’s cheaper for him, and for us just the best.
The last born is having a ball while he studies,
In the fair Cape, with some fabulous buddies.
He works hard, play hard and loves to go for a run,
And years at varsity, he is left with one.
My mum has had a torrid time of late,
And has really been struggling with her mental state.
She is incredibly strong, but it is very tough,
Being there for her, we hope is enough.
Pops has had a rough patch or two,
Our respect for him this year just grew and grew.
He is a warrior and always fights back,
To keep as fit as he can, and he is never slack.
My Girls I have spoken and blogged about often,
They are loyal and loving, though neither a boffin.
My close companions and always at my side,
And managing all that goes on, totally in their stride.
What our challenging year has shown so much to me,
Is how supportive our loving friends can be.
When the chips seem down, they rush to our side,
Constantly there for us, as we have laughed and (me) cried.
The abundance of care that has come our way,
On an even keel, has helped us to stay.
My overall health remains really great,
My supplementation keeping me in a good state.
I manage my emotions mostly quite well,
And if I am not, my family me will surely tell,
To get some counselling and I always comply,
And to get back to normal, I always will try.
I am meditating more, and my faith has become strong,
It’s sometimes quite hard, do not get me wrong.
An ongoing journey which is what life is,
Laughter, fun, sadness and the odd drizz.
My physio practice has got very busy,
And at times this makes me feel rather dizzy.
It is mostly grand, and my patients are cool.
And I think they like me, as a general rule.
We laugh and we joke, and they just need a touch,
At times they might think I am a bit much,
Especially when I make them exercise and move,
But so very quickly they get in the groove.
This has been so good for my sense of self-worth,
Even when the odd one gives me a wide berth.
My presentations to carers on back care when lifting,
Has led to my thought process pondering and shifting.
So, I am developing a tool folk can use.
In order that they their back ache may lose.
I am quite excited about this so watch this space,
I may become famous, so look out for my face.
Only joking, I am just having some fun.
And if it helps folks, my job will be done.
I am not blogging as much, since my time has become less,
We will just see how it goes, that’s my guess.
My nutrition consulting is on the back burner,
But I remain an avid nourishment learner.
It’s the most interesting subject and it is my thing,
And much stimulation for me it does bring.
My supplements business ticks merrily along,
Some pocket money for things for which I do long.
I don’t talk about it much, there is really no need,
Evey now and again, I just plant that seed!
My leisure pursuits remain travelling and walking,
Reading, socialising, and always so much talking.
I am still learning French, and this served me well,
On our recent trip abroad, which made me feel swell.
In Champagne, Quebec and Montreal I was brave,
Speaking French up a storm, it was such a rave.
Another leg injury at the start of the year,
Put paid to exercise and brought the odd tear.
I am now doing fine, and back on the track,
Holding thumbs that the malady does not come back.
I have to move for my mental health,
To have limbs that work is such a huge wealth.
My daily mission of kind acts goes on,
And I dearly hope it will never be gone.
I think it is time for this rhyme to end,
Well wishes for the Festive Season, I just want to send.
All over, everywhere, below, and above,
For you all, peace, health, happiness and love,
Love always to you and your 4 men, Hayley
Beautifully written Hayley. Wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas too 🎄🥂🎁❤️
